“My experience with the College Prep Program can be described as a great use of my summer. During the summer, students usually forget and lose knowledge. In College Prep, you use and build upon the knowledge that you gained during the school year. Returning back to school in the fall, I felt like I had a leg up on the other students and the college visits made it easier to identify what I wanted from a college. Getting a head start on the common application was also great. College Prep is really an amazing program.”

“I joined College Prep the summer after my freshman year of high school, in 2012. The year everyone was sure the world was going to end. Glad to say it didn't because I still had some living to do. I knew a four-year university or college was on the horizon, I just didn't know which or the difference between the two. I was the first in my family to go, and an untimely apocalypse was not welcomed. I didn't know it when I applied then, but College Prep would go on to lift me in more ways than one. For me, College Prep was the difference between courage and uncertainty, community and isolation, how to get more grants and fewer loans, and feeling prepared and feeling lost. For me, College Prep has been an unyielding team of support from the moment I applied, the moment I graduated from the program, and every other graduation in between, be it school, or those moments in life when a new you may be forced to emerge. Although 2020 and 2021 have felt both apocalyptical and post-apocalyptical, I got some more living done as a teacher, seeing students make brave and admirable decisions as they, too, consider their futures both near and far.”
